That Widow

Day 45 and I finally decided to get the new flooring done.

I know it doesn’t seem like a big deal to some to get new flooring done but in our house it’s a HUGE deal. My husband is a penny pincher, OCD, spreadsheet loving, needs to think on it for at least 5 years and then some kind of man. He would rather wait until we list our house for sale and get new stuff then than pay for us to enjoy it now. We had been talking about replacing the kitchen laminate since we moved in and we got really close but then he was diagnosed with gastric cancer and there was never time between doctor appointments, chemo appointments, hospitalizations, and surgeries. There is just never enough time.

Well, I decided to do it. It needs done, it’s needed done, I just had a mini panic attack giving the final ok. I had to call my mom and even then I was crying because it just feels like so much. God love moms because I’m 35 and my mom is still who I go to. Then I called my grandma because she’s my best friend, always has been, always will be. Her and I are like 2 peas in a pod and she just gets it without me having to say a whole lot. Finally I gave the ok to do it. I feel good about doing it because like I said, it needs done, but it’s just another expense. I’m just trying to make it all work and be able to take care of my kids.

Day 45 and I know it’s just flooring but damn that stuffs expensive!
