Day 52 and both older boys are in trouble at school.
The oldest was talking after repeated warnings, well I am his mother and every report card I’ve had said talks too much is class sooooo I can’t really be that mad. Obviously I’m going to tell him to be polite and zip it when needed but it’s a tale as old as time. The second has a tendency to run away this week, he’s always been my runner. I told the school, they have it in writing, to watch him as he will run away. I don’t know why they think they can change him or it’s all of the sudden a non-issue. School, I get it but man I don’t really care for it.
I homeschooled the oldest for 2 years and he loved it but my husband wanted him to go back this year and he’s doing well but the teacher messaged me and said did he tell you he had to move his clip? I said no, he’s 10, why would he tell me he got in trouble? Unless you message me, write it in his agenda, or call me I won’t know about it. She said she would write it down from now on. Why are we expecting a 10 year old to make adult decisions when most adults wouldn’t admit if they got in trouble either? And why are we still doing a “move your clip” at this age/grade? Doesn’t that seem a little juvenile for the level of maturity you’re expecting out of your students? Makes zero sense to me.

Day 52 and I just don’t understand the system sometimes.
