Day 62

Day 62 and it’s been 9 weeks, 63 days, 1512 hours since he’s been gone.

All 6 are still sick but the school called for me to pick up number 2 because he wouldn’t stop coughing. First let me say I totally get it. No one wants a sick kid in their class however, kids are gross by nature and little sees pools of germs. Secondly, number 2 also has autism and sensory processing disorder so he will fixate on something until you ask him to stop. He generally does stop. He may start doing it again and then you repeat for him to stop and so on. Anyways, I was trying to explain this to the nurse and she just was not getting it. I went and picked him up. I had an hour before I had to go get the 2 at the other school so I took 2 and 5 to the urgent care since they’ve been sick so long and they gave them antibiotics, thank the stars for that.

I go to pick up their medicine and it was $100. The girl looked nervous that I was going to be upset but what was I supposed to say? It is what it is. The kids need medicine and when your husband dies and the insurance stops and the new one just changed their pharmacy practices but you need a new card for that to take effect you pay the $100. I don’t have the luxury of time to wait for new cards. My mother-in-law was incensed by it all and I’m just resigned. Nothing I can do about it other than get my kids the medicine they need and move on with my day.

Day 62 and he’s been gone for 9 weeks and medication prices are crazy.
