Day 102

Day 102 and I’m off to the races!

For starters I am not a runner. I’ve always said if you see me running that means you better run too because something is chasing me. I’m a fast walker. I became a slow walker when I was a lot heavier but a walker nonetheless. After having our youngest and starting to work out I took the double stroller and I was at about a 20 minute mile pushing the stroller with number 5 in it and he’s pretty light compared to his brothers. Since then I’ve obviously lost a lot of weight and started my Peloton journey as well as my YouTube workouts. I’ve started jogging in place at home but it’s on the carpet and I have to be barefoot. I’ve got my pace down to 9 minute miles from 20! That’s crazy to me!

I had tarsal tunnel release surgery on both ankles, think carpal tunnel but on your feet instead of hands. The hope was that by having the surgery I would be able to feel my feet in space more and not roll my ankles as much and my feet wouldn’t go numb while doing different activities. It helped if I am barefoot, which is weird, but if I have my shoes on my feet go numb. I tried jogging in place with my shoes on and I was at 11:30 pace and my feet burning from going numb with my shins hurting. Looks like barefoot it is!

Day 102 and whatever works to get the work done.
