That Widow

Day 103 and it’s parade day.

I had an organization contact me about my husband and they wanted to do a parade in his honor and present myself, and our children, with a check to help with minor expenses. This has been in the works for 2 months now and the day finally came. I was not feeling the best today as I’ve had a headache for 3 days where my eyes are just killing me. I’ve been wearing my glasses nonstop and still it’s not helping so far. Anyways, the parade was really nice. The people who attended were incredibly sweet and there’s just no way to repay all of the kindness that we’ve been shown.

A lot of our families showed up too and of course here came my mother. If I want something to distract from the moment, I’m inviting her. I asked for a picture with those that were in the parade and I had some of the boys in the stroller and I said I would put myself and the boys in the middle and have them surround us. Here comes my mother like she’s somebody and stands in the middle. Hello, this is not about you. This has nothing to do with you. I haven’t talked to you since you were a shitty human being and have yet to receive any sort of apology. Get out of here. I shouldn’t be surprised anymore.
