That Widow

Day 131 and whowee she got me in the feels.

One of my husband’s sisters came over with my 4 nieces and nephew to exchange Christmas gifts. The kids do a gift exchange from each other and they have so much fun picking things out and they love to see the others face when they give the gift, it’s really sweet to watch. My oldest niece was is my husband’s goddaughter and she always makes him a homemade gift each Christmas. This year she made ME an ornament and wrote me a letter. She said she was giving me the gift of time and offered to watch the boys so I could take each boy out for one on one time. She’s 11 and she said she bring over my mother and father-in-law to help. She also asked if I would step in to be her godparent for my husband. Oh this sweet girl! I was doing good keeping it together and then she did that and I had the tears.

It was a loud and messy time with 11 kids all over the place but the kids had a good time so the mess was worth it. I felt exhausted after the few hours they were here but I navigated a little bit of Christmas with just a few tears.
